Most Plastic Beads to Compose a Portrait

2020-10-22

To mark Chhatrapati Shivaji's birthday, animator Nitin Dinesh Kamble in Mumbai of India created a 10x8 foot Mosaic portrait using 46,080 plastic beads, setting a world record.

Kamble, a high-tech animator employed by a private company, undertook the creation of this artwork at night due to his demanding day job. It took approximately 10 days to complete the portrait.

He stated, “I utilized 46,080 plastic beads. Although plastic is prohibited in India, we cannot address the existing plastic waste. I procured the raw materials from Bhubaneswar and personally painted them in six distinct colors.”

Therefore, I conceived the idea of crafting something beautiful with this plastic. Thats why I create this portrait.

He added, this photograph has been recognized in the Indian Book of World Records as my first world record achievement. In the future, I aspire to honor our freedom fighters further because I believe it is essential for younger generations to learn about them and draw inspiration from them”.

However, this is not the only remarkable piece of Jhatparati Sivaji artwork recently produced in Maharashtra. Last year, an artist created a mural depicting Jhatparati Sivaji on Google Maps. Satellite imagery within the app reveals that this work was executed in a field located in Niranga village within Latour district.
